Vancouver Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

by scott on February 11, 2010

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the second rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games .. here is a preview. Now I would have more, but was told not to take any more pictures or I would be asked to leave :(

I didn’t get shots of the performers like I wanted, but here is a taste of who will be there:

Bryan Adams, Nelly Furtado and Sarah McLachlan will be among the performers

Vancouver Olympic Committee CEO John Furlong criticized spectators for leaking details of Friday’s highly anticipated event. “I don’t think it’s classy,” he told media on Wednesday. … oppps!

It’s funny…the older I get, the more I like the Olympics.

Does anyone know the exact schedule of the opening ceremony tomorrow?

Those giant transparent things are cultural icons of the indigenous people of the region where the Olympics are being hosted. They are meant to welcome people. One of Vancouver’s tourist attractions is the Museum of Anthropology, there are carvings like that as you come into the museum. If you come to Vancouver you have to check it out.
